Scope of Work: Served as general contractor for the installation of a new steel tower and screen for Martin Marietta’s quarry in Waite Park, MN. The scope of work included assembling and erecting the structural steel tower, including all chute work and stairs, then installing a new 8’ x 24’ horizontal screen and twin 54” sand screw conveyors on separate foundations. The new screen assembly weighed 46,000 pounds.

Lakehead Constructors has been working with Martin Marietta at their Waite Park site for over 10 years, providing construction and maintenance services for their annual crusher and conveyor outages, as well as capital project construction. The quarry is dedicated to mining for aggregates – engineered granular materials consisting of crushed stone, and gravel and sand.
