Lake Superior Warehouse – Heavy Lifts
Shown are 660,000 pound transformers that were produced by Siemens in Nuremburg, Germany being shipped through the Port of Duluth to various location in Alberta, Canada. The units, valued at over $3.5 million dollars, each, were part of a new 500-kilometer transmission between points north of Edmonton to south of Calgary. LCI used 2 Manitowoc 2250 crawler cranes (300 US ton) to load the transformers onto specially fitted railcars, then welded to the railcars by certified LCI Ironworkers.
