Canadian National RR – Stormwater Improvements
In 2006, Lakehead Constructors completed storm water collection improvements to the CN Railway’s Duluth, Minnesota facility. The new storm water collection system processes water used by the facility for dust control. A new storm water pond, culvert improvements, and over 2,200 feet of piping were installed. Lakehead Constructors self-performd this work, including installation of two 24-inch diameter High Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE), fused by certified operators.
Accomplishments:
High spring storm water runoff rates required that the work be constructed without interrupting the adjacent active rail line. The project was completing without injury.
