Lakehead Constructors, Inc. has been around since 1916. One man – our founder, Roland C. Buck – had a vision for his company. His goal was to revolutionize the design and construction industry in large-scale harbor facilities. Buck, a civil engineer, started the company under the name R.C. Buck Company. In just a matter of years, the startup company earned a national reputation for breaking the mold and providing a level of care, craftsmanship, and quality unparalleled in the industry.
In 1934, Floyd Bernard joined the company and quickly worked his way up to ownership. In 1955, he and two others incorporated as Lakehead Constructors, Inc. (LCI). Today, we continue to live up to Buck’s legacy. Our ongoing mission is to provide innovative, reliable, and high-quality services to clients throughout the Upper Midwest.
We give back to our community every chance we get. We’ve contributed to annual events and causes such as the Salvation Army, United Way, Blue Bird Foundation, Northern Lights Foundation, and many local foundations, schools and youth sport sponsorships.
